Halo PC
Halo for the PC and Mac is set for a release date of September 17, 2003. It contains new weapons, levels, and revamped graphics. Campain is the same (read the page "Halo" for details) and it might create mods to let players customize their favorite levels.

Te PC version's new content is in multiplayer levels. It will contain two new weapons:The Fuel Rod Cannon and the flamethrower. Players that are familiar with the Xbox version's single-player levels will remember the hunters and spec ops grunts with fuel rod cannons. In the PC version, this gun is bestowed upon you for use in multiplayer. The weapon fires an arcing mortar-like shot of plasma, which explodes forcefully on impact, which is enough to turn over a warthog. The other new weapon is the flamethrower. Strictly a close-quarters weapon, the flamethrower is most useful against enemies on foot.

The Fuel Rod Cannon

The new online multi-player maps are shrouded in secrecy, yet Gearbox has released details on a few levels.

Timberland- A forest containing multiple hills and ridges, as well as many pathways from one side to the other. Small, two-level bases are located on opposite sides of the area, with flags on the lower level of each base. A stream runs from one base to the other, marking a path between the bases. You can choose to take a center route to go from one side to the other, but in doing so you miss out on many powerful weapons and other vehicles available from the perimeter of the map. Rocket warthogs, ghosts, and scorpion tanks are common on the level, but the narrow pathways and rolling terrain also give a good advantage to crafty infantry armed with rocket launchers or fuel rod cannons.

Death Island-Two bases built into sheer cliff walls on opposite sides of an island make the level up. It is possible to teleport to where the Banshees are kept, or you can go to the lower level of the base that reveals several warthogs, which you can use to drive around the perimeter of the island to the enemy base. If you take the time to navigate into the canyons in the center of the island, you'll find an area with some useful items, such as a shotgun and active camouflage.

A Banshee versus a Shade...
You'll also be able to use three new vehicles in the multiplayer modes of Halo for the PC. The set includes the Covenant Banshee, a rocket-equipped LRV warthog, and the covenant shade. The high-soaring Banshee is basically an anti-vehicle vehicle. That may sound a bit odd, but it's fierce as its ability to dodge and attack from any angle make ground vehicles seem like grunts. The rocket-turret warthog is similar to the regular M12 LRV UNSC transport vehicle, only instead of having a M41 LAAG turret, the rocket warthog sports a rocket launcher in the back, capable of firing off three rockets before it needs to be reloaded. The reload time is lengthy, so if you miss three times, you'll be a sitting duck. The final "vehicle" is the covenant gun turret. As in the single-player game, the shades have a high rate of fire, making them effective for base defense, particularly against vehicles like the banshee but flip easily.
